You will need to have the following documentation for getting married in Sri Lanka;
Valid British passports
Birth certificates
Affidavit signed by a solicitor
If divorced - a decree absolute
If widowed - death certificate plus previous marriage certificate
If you have changed your name - a deed poll (includes divorcees
who have reverted to their maiden name)
No one under 21 years of age is permitted to marry in Sri Lanka
as according to Government regulations.
All documents must be in English and you must have been in Sri
Lanka for at least four days before the actual wedding can take
place

Documents requested 30days prior to arrival;
Photocopies of birth certificates
If divorced or widowed certificates of divorce or death certificate
Photocopies of Passports
The above should reach the hotel 30 days prior to the date of ceremony.
Also originals of above documents will have to be produced to the respective hotel at least 4 days prior to the ceremony.
The necessary marriage certificate and Ministry’s approval with English translation will be delivered to the client within 14
working days after the ceremony.
